There are actually two things that disappeared somewhat recently that I would like to see back at least as an option even if it is disabled by default.
First is the ability to see how many read and unread messages in each folder along with how large the folder is.
The other missing feature is the ability to just click once to retrieve all new mail. There used to be a sub-button I guess you might call it attached to the "Get Mail" button that would retrieve mail for all accounts. While CTRL-SHIFT-T works, I would much rather be able to just click to do this task. I don't even see this as an option in any of the menus.

while we are on the subject of removed features...i thought toolbars between panes had some nice features (which are now gone)
