Delete mail from server after __ days

Post by F J Walter »

This is the feature I would most like to see on Thunderbird. I use this feature in Outlook Express - it makes sure that the mailbox on the server does not become too full, yet it still allows me to download my mail at work and at home.

There is an option in Thunderbird which says "Delete from server when deleted or moved from inbox", but it doesn't seem to work in the way I expect it to. Mail remains on the server.

Have there ever been plans to implement a "Delete from server after __ days" feature?

A corresponding feature that I haven't seen in Thunderbird or Mozilla is "delete messages in the Trash folder that are more than X days old". Especially for IMAP accounts, this is a valuable tool that I think should be part of every top e-mail client.

My appologies if it's been added lately. If yes, someone please let me know. It's been the main lacking feature that has kept me with other e-mail clients.
