Looking for autocorrect.xpi add-on
purpose: automatic spell correction as we type text
It previously existed for Thunderbird, in early versions.
Tried downloading an ancient version (TB 1.0 by Ausdilecce / Frank DiLecce)
I edited install.rdf to increase max version, and ran it.
The software hung with a javascript console error.
AutoCorrect is very useful, to correct common typo's, without waiting for a spell check.
Features
Expand phrases such as "t u i a" to "thank you in advance"
(including with embedded blanks!)
Expand abbreviations without having to use mouse clicks (like Quicktext)
Correct capitalizations, such as changing COntract to Contract
Add punctuation, such as im to I'm
Correct typos, such as teh to the
thank you in advance.

Re: AutoCorrect
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Emulate_Micro ... ts#Editing has a link to a enhanced modified version of it. It might need the version bumped again but it worked with whatever the current version of Thunderbird was in Nov. 2011 according to viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2332529&start=15 .

Re: AutoCorrect
Will someone please bump the autocorrect.xpi again to work with 45.2.0
Or is there some other plugin that does the same thing?
Thank you!!

Re: AutoCorrect
Try installing the disable add-on compatibility check add-on, and then re-enable the autocorrect add-on. Ignore the warning about it not being supported etc., it really just complaining about the maximum version field.
You could also try the mms Auto Correct add-on.

Re: AutoCorrect
Thank you for the tip on the disable addon. I am already using the mms auto correct and it is full of bugs.
