Fully Sync, Mate
This worked for me - I am running OS X, Thunderbird 0.7, Lightning 0.3, and the current software for Palm Tungsten E2.
I have managed to get a sequence (not a patch, but a workaround that works) that syncs all the following between my Mac and my Tungsten E2:
My Thunderbird address book
Lightning calendars including Google (and presumably any other iCal format) calendars
All the Palm-ish stuff (docs to go etc etc)
1. Export your Thunderbird Address book to your desktop (or wherever) as an LDIF file.
2. Import that LDIF file into your Mac’s Address program – launch Address, Import > etc
3. Sync your Palm Tungsten E2 with your Mac using iSync. This will get all your Thunderbird calendar (and any other iCal calendars eg Google calendars) info into your Palm E2 (because I can never get those calendars to sync with Hot Sync alone).
4. Now sync again, this time from the Hot Sync button on your E2 to get all the palm-ish stuff across.
Everything should now be shared between your Mac and your handheld.
