thesaurus (English) for TBird

Post by pacificmigration »

Hi,
I'm searching for an English language Thesaurus in TBird. Is there a plug-in/add-on available? I could not find any.
Are there plans to offer a Thesaurus in the near future?

What are my alternatives - another email client like outlook, which I used before , maybe?

Thanks
t.

I'm not aware of one or any plans to implement one. You could try to convince the author of https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... erencecom/ (A thesaurus add-on for Firefox) to add support for Thunderbird. Part of the problem is that most people don't need to use a thesaurus that often, so occasionally using a browser to look at a thesaurus web site while composing a message meets their needs. You could compose the message body using a text editor that supports a thesaurus using the external editor add-on. That add-on still works AFAIK but you need to install the disable add-on compatibility checks add-on first (and ignore the warning message) because it's manifest file was never updated to claim it supports more recent versions.
