I am able to get TB thru their stock email program the problem is is that
you cannot delete all unwanted emails at once you must delete one at a time and same when emptying the trash only one at a time

it would be great if there was a TB app for the droid turbo phone

There is no mobile Thunderbird being developed for any mobile OS including Android. The Thunderbird community is busy enough with doing the desktop Releases as is.
