Is it possible that thunderbird can search inside attachment text like pdf, doc not only txt plain files? Outlook 2010 can search inside these attachments. I know there is an old thread already for this request but it's old. viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1207595

No, that is not possible. Thunderbird has no built in functions to display pdf, doc, or text file but uses helper programs to display the data from such attachments. Also, when the account is set up as IMAP, the attachment is not downloaded until the particular message is opened for viewing.
