I badly want this feature: https://www.ritlabs.com/en/support/tips ... NT_ID=3839
Actually I filled a request in 2009 (see below).
Message parking is designed to prevent accidental deletion of valuable messages. When a message is parked, you will not be able to move it to another folder, nor will it be deleted or automatically purged. It is also impossible to delete a folder that contains one or more parked messages, or contains a sub-folder which contains a parked message.

Re: Parking of messages
That might be a useful feature but after 7 years no one has come forward to work on it. As things now stand, Thunderbird is a community project and Mozilla is not providing any new feature support so it's unlikely something like this will appear in the near future.

Re: Parking of messages
Long ago Thunderbird had a subset of that - if you set a flag/star on a message it couldn't be deleted. They changed the behavior later on with no explanation.

Re: Parking of messages
Yep, the message could be starred, if it would be changed to "starred = parked" it would be great. I could found this change with some 20 €, if it helps.
