I switched from Eudora to Thunderbird and I find it quite good. However, I do miss the options found in the search function of Eudora: Anywhere, Headers, Body, Attachment Name(s), Date, To, From, Subject. It gives one the ability to narrow the search. Thank you.

Which search function are you using? Global search, quick filter bar, or classic search (edit -> find -> search messages)? I find the quick filter bar (enable it using view -> toolbars -> quick filter bar) most useful, especially if you install the expression search/gmail UI , TotalQuickFilter or QuickFilterPlus add-on to enhance its capabilities.
