Apply email filters to sent items

I never understood why TB never allowed to apply filters also to sent emails.
In the past the addon Send Filter fixed that, but now it stopped working in v60.6 Do you know if there's a way to obtain this feature again? ![]() You can still manually trigger any filters you wish against the Sent folder.
Come on, that's super inconvenient. I need an automatic option. ![]() Wow.
Have you tried that same extension after setting extensions.strictCompatibility to "False"? Do that using menu path Tools->Options->Advanced->General->click on the "Config Editor" button and enter that term in the filter bar, then double click on the item to toggle it to "False". Close and restart Thunderbird and text the extension.
Sadly it's already set to false :\ I guess there's nothing to do about it. Is there an official place where to request features to TB devs? ![]()
https://www.bugzilla.org/developers/reporting_bugs.html Although it refers to "bugs" it's also for posting requests for features. Just don't expect a personal answer or even a prompt response to your posting.
I apply filters to sent mails for different recipients all the time. Basically the filter I created to do this has these settings. Manually run and After sending, checked. (Why manually run Walt? It's automagic) Match all of the following, selected. To > Contains > (the part before the @ in the address) The filter if you were the recipient, would look like this if phaolo was the part before the @ in your email address. Example: To > Contains > phaolo For Perform these actions, I have, Move message to > the recipients folder created under the account name. Example: phaolo on Yahoo I save the filter as recipients name-sent. Example: phaolo-sent What am I missing with your question? Linux Desktop - AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 455 3.3GHz | 8.0GB RAM | GeForce GT 630
Windows Notebook - AMD A8 7410 2.2GHz | 6.0GB RAM | AMD Radeon R5
I created filters with these conditions (sadly I can't add both add\or): OR - To..contains.. [email1@exampleA.com] - To..contains.. [email2@exampleB.com] - etc.. THEN - move message to.. [Sent subfolder] But it doesn't seem to work anymore ![]() Did you select "Match ANY of the following" in the section above those filter criteria?
Yes. Remember that those filters were working correctly before the latest updates. I didn't change anything from their settings. ![]() Try switching on the Filter Log (if not already on) and clearing that log before manually triggering the filter, after confirming that there are messages in the Sent folder that will match the intended criteria of the filter.
Ok, an user at bugzilla solved it.
I had to select this (new?) option in filters: "apply filter when" > "after sending" Checking the checkbox for "after sending" underneath "Apply filter when:" is not a new option. Browsing the release notes it appears to have been added in version 38.0.1 on June 11, 2015.
