annoying quirk: taskbar notification icon doesn't go away after reading new mail that was moved to local folders using message filters.
I have one IMAP account. I have added filters so that all incoming mail automatically gets moved to various local folders.
When I get new mail, the mail notification taskbar icon pops up. Thats fine.
But the problem is, when I read the new message(s) in my local folders, the taskbar mail notification icon still doesn't go away.
I have to click the IMAP Inbox folder (which is empty) to make it disappear. Can this be fixed please? Having to keep clicking
the IMAP/Inbox folder everytime I'm done reading new mail is getting to be a real pain. I decided to grin and bear it with Thunderbird 1.0,
but it's not fixed in Thunderbird 1.5 either. I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this.

Re: taskbar notification icon doesn't go away w/ Message Fil
I know this thread is VERY old, but I couldn't find anything newer.
I'm running TB 91.1.2 on Win10 and I am seeing this issue with the emails that are moved to a local folder using a filter. I use Unified Folders and I find that I can clear the counter on the Taskbar icon by going to the individual folder that the email came into originally and was moved from by the filter.
Has anyone found a way to cure this without manual intervention?
