First Impression and Feature Requests

Post by henris »

Hi,
i'm working with firebird since some days (changed cause i wanted to try the spamfilter)

My Impression:
its quite good
- very slow (but i think this changes, it's only alpha)

What do i miss (and i have at other mailprograms):

- minimize to tray

- outbox: all mails to be sent go in there and are processed one by one (if something goes wrong, next try after the next sucessfull fetch or...). I think thats better than having an open window which sends the mails.
-> if i send more messages with attachements this optimizes the sending process

- multiple signatures for each account

- Viewing mails as text per default (I know how to activate it), and if it's html I get a choice to view it as html.

- bounce feature (instead of forwarding a mail i bounce it, and all the headers stay. This i usefull if you use a fetch all account and a mail has a wrong email adress i bounce the mail.

- mark mails in spezific folders as read at once (perhaps i can acomplish this via a filter)

This is what i think would be usefull, after some days of use
Great work
Henri

Ok one more:

- faster way of adding adresses from adressbook: i.e. When i'm in the 'to: field' right click -> popup with all adressbook -> selecting one gives access to the adresses in it. (seen in Pmmail2000)

Ok next thing which bothered me:

Reply to:
I'm subsrcibed to a mailinglist.
The mail comes from the sender and has as reply_to adress the email of the mailing list.
Thats normally fine

But if i wan't to reply to the sender i don't have a chance. Only way seems to copy the adress and paste it manually.

Cu Henri
