Yes, that's why it's a "workaround". Being able to minimise to the system tray and have nothing active except occasional mail checking would be a "solution". And a solution which didn't swallow up anywhere near as much memory.

Turbo mode will not be supported in thunderbird. There is probably some legacy turbo code hanging around which is why you can partially get it to work....not sure how long that condition will last though =)

and whats with minimize-to-tray? plans to add this <em>option</em>? :)
