Please remove all Addon/Extension code from Lightning, and integrate full calendar functionality directly into Thunderbird

We're a independent user community site, not owned by or formally associated with Mozilla.

Jorg made several comments in the bug report about why that can't change yet such as Calendar/Lightning still uses XUL overlays which were removed from Thunderbird.

Please no. I do not insult anyone but I, me, has no need for a calendar as part of my email client. If I did I would install this extension and support the author/developer.

Up until version 60 I used the ReminderFox add-on for simple to-do lists (that had a date). A simple, mature add-on that does a fraction of what Lightning supports, and doesn't really care what version of Thunderbird you have. I finally gave up (since its clear that Lightning will become integrated eventually) and spent several hours figuring out how to duplicate what I did in ReminderFox in Lightning. Sigh.

"integrated" as in "built-in" and not removable?

Once again, no hurt feelings intended, that would be "Bloatware" for my use of Thunderbird.

""integrated" as in "built-in" and not removable?"

I think so, based on what I've seen in the Thunderbird planning mailing list.

I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for the information.
