I've installed Shredder Beta4 on my Ubuntu (Karmic) home computer, and I'm having trouble getting it to play nice with Gmail's archiving function.

Account Settings -> Gmail -> Server Settings -> When I delete is set to Move it to "All Mail" but when I click delete on the keyboard (rather than clicking on the archive button in the mail header) it gets sent to [Gmail]/Trash

Similarly with my Spam - if Thunderbird thinks its spam, it goes straight into trash, rather than [Gmail]/Spam which is how I've got the junk settings set up.

Now I know I could just click the archive button, but I'm a keyboard sort of guy and it's nice to be able to drop through the email list clicking delete on the keyboard.... but not if it's not going to work as advertised!

I see the same problem - Thunderbird always moves the message to [Gmail]/Trash instead of respecting the setting to move it to All Mail.

However, the defaults should work to have the Delete button in Thunderbird just remove labels and keep the email in All Mail, see http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answ ... swer=78755
