mail matching filter marked as junk

Post by jd142 »

I don't know if this is really a bug, more of a feature not working as expected, which is close. Anyway, I'm on a mailing list and I have the e-mails for the list automatically moved to a folder. Yesterday, the junk mail filter marked one of them as junk and put it in the junk folder. I unmarked it and moved it out. I was filtering on any message that had dork in the subject, the dorktower mailing lists. It seems to me that mail that matches a filter should be excluded as a candidate for the junk mail filter. Or at least have a toggle for it in the filter, something that says "Any message matching this filter should be excluded from the junk mail filter."

Or is the consensus that spammers will try to get around junk mail controls by trying to match common filters? Seems like that would be really hard.

This was the May 27th 2003 windows release.
