Cannot use any links in Thunderbird

Post by emohawk »

I am very new at Linux so if I have missed something obvious apologies in advance.

I downloaded and installed the latest Thunderbird (0.1a (20030603) (I had an older version in which the same problem was evident and d/l new version to see if it was the build)

I really like the programme, the look and functionality of it is excellent.

One small problem though is that none of the highlighted links work. I.E. clicking on urls in messages do nothing. The URL comes up on the status bar at the bottom but clicking does not activate it.

Also get new themes button does nothing, as does the attach file button.

Hope this is operator error.

Oh, is an icon available similar to the blue pheonix used in the ´About Mozilla Thunderbird´ pop up?

I do not use Linux. I think that Thunderbird uses the browser that you have set as your default. If it is possible in Linux to set your default browser, try setting it to Firebird or Mozilla.

*sigh* Does no one read any of the documentation I work so hard on maintaing for this project anymore? =)

Please see the to do list:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/thunder ... olist.html

And the various threads throughout the forum that also talk about this. I'm too tired right now to go dig them up =).

Oh, sorry. I've read about the Linux thing before, but if I don't have a reason to remember it, it flies right out the door, or ear rather :)

Following HTML links in messages

Post by Superbiskit »

I'm using 2003-06-08 (0.6) Thunderbird - I think that's the ID.

I don't have any trouble with links <strong>off</strong> the message -- Firebird launches and finds the right page.

However, links internal to the message - fragment id's in scheme:mailbox - just don't do a thing.
Following is (invalid) Bug#208945 I tried to file:
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.1a (20030603-trunk)

Among my news tidbits is the INA service of IHT.COM. The headlines are all
anchors pointing to a location thus:
mailbox:///G|/HOME/superbiskit/_Mozilla/Superbiskit/********.slt/Mail/cox.net/Inbox?number=21214144#a_47464

Clicking on one should move the view to the cited fragment.

It does not.

Reproducible: Always
