Dithering separator

I find the separator between the message list and the message display windows dithers uncontrollably when the list of messages reaches the separator. I have been told this may have some connection with the localstore.rdf file, which apparently should be located in the profile. I find there are plenty of localstore.rdf files on the hard drive, but I am not sure how to make sure any of them is in the correct Thunderbird profile folder. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Or perhaps suggest another possible cause of the dithering, if you do not think it is related to the localstore.rdf file?

Yes, this is what I mean. Unfortunately, the author does not say how the bug can be eliminated. But I see this is a known bug, so that many other people have noticed the same thing. Let's hope someone can do something about it!
