I set up my columns in the message pane the way I find most useful: threads, attachments, subject, read, correspondents, starred, date, and junk. Keeping the narrow tabs separated because it's way too each to click on the wrong column and send your message to the junk folder.

I set it up, then copied the settings to all of my mail folders, both the main ones and the Local Folders, just in case one of them gets rearranged. Today I find that ALL of them have been rearranged to the default! @*$@(!

What's causing this? Why can't the columns stay fixed? This has happened, on and off, for at least a decade. I haven't seen this problem reappear in a long time.

Column order is not an amusement, it's something for productivity.

On Window, yes...78.0b2 (32-bit). I'm running 68.8.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 20.04.
Dan Raisch's comment has some hope. It looks like the problem is actually being addressed!

I haven't seen my column order rearranged using 78.0b2 on Ubuntu 18.04.4

Why 32-bit on a 64-bit system when there is a 64-bit 78.0b2?
