Is this fixed yet? I am stilling running 1.5.0.7 because of this bug.

If it is fixed, is it fixed in a way that I can just do a normal update to the latest version? Or will I have to do some weird special import to the new version?

It was fixed in 1.5.0.9. Just download it manually and install.
