Cyrillic message subjects are not displayed properly in IMAP

Post by rom »

Using: 2003-04-09-win32-trunk

I have an account at www.hotbox.ru that supports IMAP. I am using IMAP to connect to it. I've got messages with subjects containing Cyrillic characters in two folders (Inbox and Sent). Those in Inbox are displayed fine (they are written in koi8-r charset), but those in Sent folder are displayed like crap. The contents of the messages are displayed fine, though.

For the Inbox, koi8-r is used. Koi8-U also works. However, only koi8-u works for messages in Sent folder. And switching to koi8-u works for each message, not for a list of messages when the folder is selected. I have not found a way to properly display subjects of the messages in the list of messages in the Sent folder.

Names of attachements in the attachment box are also displayed like crap, and setting a different encoding didn't help.

Important: everything looks fine via their web interface. So, data is not corrupted.

It looks like Mozilla/Minotaur repeats the same problem that NS 4.x had. I don't think they ever fixed that.
