When I put new mails into the trash-folder it lists these mails as new files (ie: Trash (5)). Even after clearing the trash-folder the number (here: "5") won't be cleared.

Trash count is not updated automatically after "Empty Trash".
Count is updated(cleared) when trash folder is clicked again after clicking another folder.
This is already known Mozilla's bug(sorry but I forgot bug No.).
I comfirmed that problem was resolved on 2003050509-trunk/Win-Me nightly build of Mozilla.
I expect that the fix will be applied to Thunderbird too in near future.
