Stupid qeustion

I just started using firefox and was wondering if i still need internet explorer or can i delete it

You need IE for updates and some sites still will work correctly only in IE.

so i just use firefox maily instead of IE? But for security resons i want to get rid of it. Can i get rid of IE but still keep windows atoumatic updater

You can use FF for your daily work.
Windows and MS Update is hardwired to IE so you can not remove IE without losing automatic updates.
