Problems using forum in Mozilla

Post by petehyder »

I regularly use a forum of which I am one of the moderators...

There is a facility to quote an entire message which works fine, however if I want to quote only part of a message or segment I encounter an area.

In I.E. I would copy the text I wish to quote, paste it and then with the text highlighted press the "quote" but on the forum this then produces the word "quote" in brackets at the beginning and the end of the quote.

When pasted it shows up as a quote.

However in Mozilla, Firefox and Seamonkey the quote in brackets only appears at the end of the quote and when pasted actually shows the word quote in brackets but it does not post as a quote!!

Is there anyway around this as I want to desist from using I.E. as soon as possible

Thanks

You posted in the Thunderbird Support forum asking about Mozilla Suite, Firefox and Seamonkey. I'm moving this to Miscellaneous Support since you aren't asking about one specific program.

I guess this belongs more to Web Development because it seems to be a problem about the way the forum software you use accesses the selected data. Can you tell which forum software is used? ANd probably a live link to check?

But you can tell the used software. Maybe some one else knows the problem.

I cannot post a link to the forum as it is a private forum by invitation only - what I can say is that it is an invision forum....

I cannot use functions like quote, bold and italics in Mozilla, Firefox or even Opera only seems to function I.E. or I.E. based browsers like AOL and Avant

As trolly already asked, what forum software does the forum use? For example, if you look at the bottom of this page you will see that this forum is "Powered by phpBB" this is the forum software for this forum.

I believe petehyder did say what the forum software is.
