I can not change the settings in display properties

I recently put a different hard drive in my computer and now I can't change the pixel settings. Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to fix this problem?

Do you mean Control Panel > Display: Settings : Screen resolution?

Did you reinstall windows or put a backup on the new hard drive or did the new hard drive already have a copy of windows installed?

Did you check the device manager for devices with an error?
Start > Run: compmgmt.msc /s <enter>
Or Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management
