Is anyone else recently unable to connect to The Extensions Mirror?

FF just hangs on www.extensionsmirror.nl (so does IE7), RSS doesn't connect to their feeds and a "Service Scan" by Domain Dossier times out.

Seems to be down.

There is a DOS going on right now that is effecting a lot of the Internet. It seems to have taken out my Vonage VoIP phone service as well today. Very unusual for that to happen.

Sure is. ;-)

What was really weird with Vonage is that it also caused call looping. I have it set to simultaneously ring my cell phone. One friend called and from that point on, every minute or so, his number would ring my cell again. This went on for an hour! Drove me batty since I was driving at the time. I couldn't turn it off because my cell is my business phone. It was an ARGHHH hour. ;-)

Strange, but you're right. I haven't heard anything specific to them...

Seems they lost their domain. It's listed as open to get by Lycos webhosting? I can't read that page but that's what it looks like.

Translation from Babel Fish:
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/ Soon available! This field has been already registered at Lycos Webhosting

Maybe they just need to pay their bill?

Hello Visitors,

As you might have noticed we had a lot of downtime recently. Because of all the trouble The Extensions Mirror has changed hosts ... again.
Hosting is now provided by Sheppard, great thanks to him, i am confident TEM will be better of here at the new server.

The transfer has created a few problems... The member database was corrupted, luckily all accounts could be saved, BUT...
All member names are the same, but all display names are reverted to "0". So you are kindly requested to go to My Controls -> Profile Information and change your Display Name.

If you find any other bug please respond to this topic.

It looks like not all member accounts were preserved. Mine wasn't and the registration isn't working yet.

I'm finding the same thing. Problem is, once you get to the page via extensionsmirror.nl, many of the links appear to be hardcoded to use www.extensionsmirror.nl.

You can make it work on your system by adding the following line to the hosts file on your computer:

Code: Select all
76.162.67.208   www.extensionsmirror.nl

Actually http://www.extensionsmirror.nl started working fine for me within a couple of hours later but did not bother to log in to update that. I guess the DNS updated fast for me.

Despite having upgraded to a 10Mb/s connection on Tuesday, this forum can still be slow during the day though... heh.

And now it seems every thread containing post(s) from Sheppard causes a pop-up "authentification required for.." thus preventing anyone sensible from accessing that thread.

Hope they stomp on that one soon.
