One of the Features which Mozilla is adding, forcefully, to Firefox is something called Baidu code.
In Linux it's in the features folder of the profile and in the /usr/lib/Firefox folders.
What ever it is appears to be something Mozilla wants you to keep.
From what I saw on Ghacks, they stated it is harmless as it is inactive?
So why put it in there and why, once the xpi is removed and about:config edited, continue to replace it from one of Mozilla's Amazon servers.
It isn't bad enough to break security to do what ever but now it shows up right after you close Firefox after it's been removed.
Additionally Google is now blocking some 600+ add-ons from Baidu Inc, so what the heck is going on?

Hi eLGRUMPO,
AFAICT, it's an association with a Chinese "group."???
The "Ghacks" link has the ref; to China as well.

(NB: I'm only commenting because of the following.....)
I have a similar reference to that name in one of my dash cameras.
"NB: Your "BAIDU", Chinese Maps work O.K., but these are no good to anyone in Australia."
This is from a reply that I sent to the eBay seller.

I have no idea on why "they"...(mozilla dot org) have opted to include it/them.
Maybe a Global update?

Checked the bug report yet?

Not trying to cut out the Chinese, like you there's no need for maps of China I can access the current satellite pics and see what color the tablewear is on a boat in a harbor.
Since Baidu is a feature not directly related to Firefox outside of those applying Baidu software products as anything but a feature it should be opt out.
Screenshot is redundant for some systems and formauto is an exploit waiting to happen.
