Ok thanks malliz,

*relief* after experimenting this and that, I think Fedora users (or any other Linux distro that have problems) should just stick with the "plain" terminal client provided here:
https://fah.stanford.edu/projects/FAHCl ... llReleases

Although they are called "beta", I think they are relatively stable...

Anyway, plain terminal client are good as they are:
1. Easy to manage
-Place the client in a folder, it will work in THAT folder with its settings, WUs etc.
-Compared to other official packages that uses /usr, /etc, and many more directories @@

2. Easy to set up
-Configuration files are in config.xml
-You just edit with the file with any text editor and you are done

However, it is a PAIN trying to fold with GPU options turned on, on an NVIDIA Optimus enabled laptop independent of client packages...
Anyone using a Linux laptop with Optimus tried folding one successfully?

Past couple of days PBS ran a show on folding, it showed how the application and considerations of origami was being applied to proteins, etc.
Pretty good show, thought it might be interesting to those who are and have folded.

Sure you are in the correct thread?

Thanks Grumpus. Certainly pertinent to Folding@Home!

Been a while but I figured the scientists need all the help they can get at the moment. Stopped for a long time as the computers I was using kept overheating this one looks to be good to go
