Turn off darned monitor IMMEDIATELY! No blinking LED!

Post by netdragon »

I need to know how to force my monitor off in both Windows XP and Linux. It seems that when the monitor is shut off by the computer, it is fine. When I shut it off with the button, I get this stupid blinking yellow LED on the monitor. It really bothers me, and the monitor is in my bedroom! I want it off IMMEDIATELY when I'm going to bed, with no STUPID blinking LED! Is that too much to ask? I'm freaking tired trying to figure this BS out if you wonder why I'm GRUMPY!

I don't want it to turn off immediately during the day, though!

HELP!!!!

A piece of black electrical tape will fix that. Unpeel when you awake and want to use the computer. ;)

*edit* Damn, just beaten by Momokatte! :D

You might want to purchase a 2nd surge protector and simply power it off using the ON/OFF switch.

The yellow light indicates it's on "Standby" and is "warmed up" verses plugging it in from a cold start. If you have a manual or manufactuer check out info they might have on it.

I'm not that versed on LCD monitors but I can see how the yellow light is somewhat of a design issue.
