USB to Serial convertor

Some places have standards based on serial ports. Particularly the hardware guys that make GPS systems. Their is an NMEA standard that's supported by most of your handheld GPS devices that have interfaces with PCs.
The companies that make GPS antennas that plug into your PC have USB now but they require you to install their own USB to Serial driver which can result in some funny things with the USB port that you designate. There are a ton of legacy GPS systems out there and I don't see any change of the standard anytime soon.
BTW, they make a pretty cool PDA with a built in GPS. You can tell it where you want to go and it will give you voice instructions to get there.
