Just kinda wondering which anti virus programs most of you use with Firefox....I have always used AVG free version....When I got this new laptop it had the trial version of McAfee so I have used it....It is due to expire in about a week.....
Thanks for any and all responses... Pat I'm a fan of Microsoft Security Essentials.
I've been using Avast free but it slows my start up time more and more with each update. So I am going back to Microsoft Security Essentials fairly soon.

Latest: Firefox/59.0.2 *ESR/52.7.3 - Mobile/59.0.2 - Thunderbird/52.7.0
Nightly: Nightly/60.0a1 - Mobile/60.0a1 - Daily/60.0a1 Avast, but I don't like their recent practice of bundling Chrome, and the opt-out does not always take.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.
Does that take over the email system like Avast? Free Your Mind, And Your A$$ Will Follow - Funkadelic, 1970
Thanks everybody....I have never even heard of MIcrosoft Security Essentials....I will have to look into that...I noticed not one person mentioned avg...I always had great faith in it...Maybe it has changed????
I also use the free version of Avast. I've never had it install Google Chrome when I've unticked that option. Since Avast doesn't come with a firewall, I use the free Comodo Firewall. Never had any problems with them running in tandem.
Honestly, if it for windows and free it means you have to read the installer screens. This isn't rock science.

AVG used to be really good. In the past few years, not at all. Avast here for both myself and my customers. Also use the paid version of Malwarebytes along side Avast.

"Terry Pratchett" I think the thing that raised my eyebrows the most on here was the MSE's is that I am using Firefox because I don't trust Microsoft, so why use their security program.....Kinda thought that was an oxymoron..But I am not too bright at times....Avast, I will look into...It does bother me that AVG has gone downhill over the yrs, but, I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it right??? I will check into avast......And I did have the free version of malwarebytes....I will check into the paid version.....But if we are going to do that, why not just buy Norton's or McAFee and get it all in one package?? Just curious...I want to do the right thing for the new laptop....
