Basically Mozilla will add EME to Firefox by way of Adobe's Access DRM because other browser makers have already added EME to their browsers. Mozilla does not want to lose marketshare by way of people abandoning Firefox for not being able to play media with EME. However users will have the choice of enabling EME and accessing the DRM'd content or disabling EME and forgoing DRM'd content.

Right now EME will come to the Firefox desktop first in the future. Mobile and FirefoxOS versions of EME may come afterwards.
