Adobe- Flash Player page is black !!

Post by ashanta »

Hi,

1.I don't know what's happened but since I deleted the flash folder from the system32 folder, because flash player freezed any videos on the web. From now, I can't not more play any video although I have flash plugin installed it.

I tried to uninstall and install previous versions, deleted cache, create a new profile, start FF on Safe Mode, but the page http://www.adobe.com/fr/software/flash/about/ is in black.

See here:

Thanks in advance !

Thank you.

Flash player is working properly but I still get the black page on the link 'about flash player' (see above). Could you please, check it ? Maybe there is something wrong with this page.

Not black for me here, I'm in the US, but doubt that matters.
I'm also using a Nightly build that will be in several weeks Firefox 34

what version is your flash ?

why are you still running Firefox 12 ? Its very outdated, and if you have the latest Flash installed, perhaps that's part of the problem, your Firefox is out of date.

Latest Flash is: 14.0.0.145

That Adobe test page works fine here, as well.
As does this one. > http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

May I ask why you "manually" deleted/removed Flash from the WIN/System32 folder?

If you want to remove or update Flash, it's always recommended to close anything that uses Flash &
use their "Un-installer" tool & then running the updated Flash installer.

This is what I recommend...It's the direct method & has never failed.
Go to, > http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
& D/L the un-installer.
Go to, > http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/ ... ndows.html
& scroll down a little to "Still having problems?" & D/L both (If needed), versions of Flash for your system.
Close all browsers & apps that use Flash because the "Un-installer" un-installs all Flash..

Run the un-installer. You can reboot the M/C, if you want.
Then run both installers.

(Always choose the "Custom" Install.)

My version is the latest one but I also tried with old versions, with the same black page. Nothing to do with FF version as it was working perfectly until now.

There is something very weird going on with your UA (User Agent) string, now I'm seeing your running Firefox 6.0 ? instead of 12.0 ?
Your UA could well be playing into why your seeing black screens.

This is exactely what I did, with the flash uninstaller and then, remove flash folder which is made part of macromed folder on the system32 folder.

The only thing that I forgot is to reboot my laptop after uninstalled.

By the way, all the adobe links you gave me, are displayed as a black page for me ;)

Not a Firefox problem. Good luck with fixing it.

Why you state this is not a firefox problem, as even with a fresh uninstallation (as Limpet235 recommended) and without flash player installed, I still have a black page ? Moreover, this is only concerning for the entire Adobe webpage. Others sites, are ok.

TheVisitor asked why are you now showing Firefox v6.0 & v12.0 in your User Agent/string.
> Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0
> Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

You seem to be using two computers.

Try re-setting the UA or at least update to the latest Firefox.
