Spam Domain Name

My wife has recently been getting spam from domains that look like this

Tmall.com_qyy

What is the _qyy after the com?

I am not aware the this is allowed. Is this domain simply spoofed?

Maybe it's to get around spam filters and they hope people will copy/paste the links without the appendix?

It is not a link. It is the "From" address in the source code. For example

It is strange, the core whois info places the site owner in China.
