Adware

Post by Infernoflower1 »

Firefox 47 kept closing itself and crashing, so I uninstalled Web Companion, which had somehow installed itself, and ran an Adware scan, which got rid of almost all my adware except for this one:
user_pref ("coupons.url", "[\"http://savingsslider-a.akamaihd.net/loa ... %20Savings\"]");

I've tried running a malware scan, removing it in Extensions and uninstalling it, and those haven't worked. What can I do about this?

Maybe some more ideas for removing that http:/ /savingsslider-a.akamaihd.net Malware > https://malwaretips.com/blogs/savings-slider-virus/ ...It was installed into Windows

Malwaretips.com is a trusted, safe site.. Any removal tools suggested are Freware versions and the removal will also remove the savingsslider Crapware that was also intalled in IE and Chrome

Another safe removal site

I've recommended this before but obviously I will have to do it again. Install Unchecky which prevents this from happening. This is hands down arguably the best piece of software that should be on every PC...and it's freeware to boot!

What it does is prevent crapware from stealthily installing itself. It opens a window that alerts you that something is trying to install other than the default program. It gives you the option to skip it in the same way a program would if they were legitimately giving you an option for advanced settings. https://unchecky.com/
