A URL to such a site/link that is not working would be helpful in troubleshooting.firefoxuse wrote:hello!

The URL for CASS appears to be loading OK when I open, also selecting and changing pages.

firefoxuse,
Try Block Flash then you will find most web pages still work.
Adobe Flash is not required, and not desired, for many (now perhaps most) devices and OS's.
Beginning with Firefox version 52, support ended for all NPAPI plugins except for Adobe Flash.
Firefox in recent versions stops the Java plugin from running automatically because of security issues.
You can still activate Java on trusted sites IF you really do need to, read here

Re: Javascript links dont work
That site is slow but does work here. Make sure that you have the current version of Flash Player for Firefox installed. That's 29.0.0.140.
Blocking Flash player would be counterproductive and while it is true that many sites have moved away from Flash, it's not true that it not required on the sites that have retained that technology.Try Block Flash then you will find most web pages still work.

DanRaisch,
BTW am not Technical, just another user.
Self finds most URL's causing issues appear designed for earlier IE versions .
Outdated versions of Microsoft's IE browser cause headaches to many website designers.
Despite newer versions of IE and Microsoft WIndows OS, compliance with web standards appears slow, so find URL's struggling with antiquated web-pages, in need of a rebuild.
Find even these web pages may claim to be recently designed, yet fail to be browse neutral, fail to satisfy latest standards, appearing more like older designs tinkered with that do not suit current standards,
This partly why disabling Adobe for sites may or may not help, until do test not so easy to determine.
For self when do Block Adobe Flash find many sites am visiting work fine, these often believe my browser on a mobile phone, though older ones often struggle do work well.
Test problems, copy URL into the W3C Markup Validator https://validator.w3.org/
These just actions self finds worth trying with any web pages which cause problems : -)

Re: Javascript links dont work
Also instead of deactivating the Flash Player Plugin one can set it to click to activate.

Note that the Java Plugin from Oracle and JavaScript in Firefox are two separate things as JavaScript was originally called LiveScript.paulparker wrote:Firefox in recent versions stops the Java plugin from running automatically because of security issues.
