Is this a real risk or an option meant mainly for businesses that was distorted in the article to get more eyeballs?

Any win 10 fanboy would do it^^

At least from my view the current win10 is an awful experiment. Twice a year a major upgrade beside the amount of updates which are not small. If they would fix the issues within the insider program and release a bugfree update, nah...
Each nice feature is going down. And they make people dependant on the stupid store. Ofc not mandatory but the store is still very buggy. Too much annoyances with win10. And they think they can make people pay for such crap? Not in this universe.

It do not matter if on mobile, surface or desktop...

I will wait for the next major ltsc and see what will happen. But i think this will be the end for me and win10.

&....I think it's mainly aimed at the Enterprise/Business sectors.

I'm hoping that my good ol' WIN7 HP PC & WIN7 Pro laptop will keep working for years after Jan. 2020
& won't be affected by this.
