Hi guys,
I just purchased 2 new "SENEO" brand dashcams with GPS.
Overall, it/they work fine.
BUT, there is one error that annoys me greatly.
The dashcam has 2 files included, 1 for the player, which you use to locate & play the car videos. (Naturally. )
& the other are the installation files for said player.
Now the error...
After the player is installed & opened (at any time, even just opening it at random),
I receive the following message...
"A script on the page has stopped working....Continue or Stop. ie; Yes or No.
I am connected to the WWW, so it ain't that.
I've contacted the eBay seller who asked me to try the 2nd dashcam, which I did, but I installed it on my spare "D" HDD.
I received the same script error message.
I also sent them the images of said error message.
The problem is that the Google Maps do NOT show up in the player.
As you know, it's supposed to show you the route the vehicle took.
This is part of what is displayed in the message as a URL.
For ref; > "http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?v=3& ... anguage=en
Thing is though, that they also include a "BAIDU" map (configured for China), which functions/displays just fine.
But, absolutely useless for moi.
So lads, is it a player "code" fault or Google?
NB; This error also occurred with another GPS dashcam that I have.
Ta muchly.
ps. If anyone would like to try the player, I have uploaded the (11 Meg), INSTALLER to my mediafire site.
I can PM you the link if required.
Ta.

Nobody should go without at least some empathy.
This past Spring, I tried to find the date, there were a number of various companies who lost their GPS licenses which applied to things like the GPS in cars, etc. Probably a long shot but maybe check with the manufacturer to see if there is a license update or if the script which is failing is being blocked..

Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

You may get more information and or help at say https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/ though no results comes up with a search for SENEO.
Also since you live in Australia the lithium battery cameras is not a good option when it is Hot as the capacitor ones are much better for hot environments. Seen reports of the good "Yi Dash" camera lithium battery bloating up in hot sun/car for example.
I wonder if this is a rebrand as decent Chinese ones can get rebranded (if allowed even), copied or faked even under multiple names. You know it is likely fake or lower quality when the real one has connections that the cheap one has covered in case moulding in same spots.
There has been copies of the excellent Viofo dash camera models for example. The Chinese G1W (also known as GS108) has been copied/faked a lot with lesser quality options along with other ones like the DVR-027/DVR-207 flip screen dash cameras that was a popular cheap one years ago.

Re: A script has stopped.....etc...
Thank you both for the replies.
I shall check out the dash camera site & see if anything relevant turns up.
Thing is James, that I have been through about 8 different brands of dash cameras, some with a capacitor & some without.
Unless you keep the capacitor charged up (using an external 5 Volt supply), they lose all your settings/prefs.
Proper PITB.
&, the dashcam is never left installed in the car.
Too much of a temptation for those nasty people that like to smash windows & steal things.
Will check my Google Account & see if changing any settings there will help.
That message > "http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?v=3&sensor=false&language=en
has me stumped.
Is this from the dashcam or Google?
I can go to the page/site but it's all double dutch to moi.

Well. There's nothing relevant in my Google Account, so I will go look at the Australian Dash Camera site & see if they can assist.

Re: A script has stopped.....etc...
Yippee...
Good news...
I finally found a site where they recommended the "DATAKAM" player, which also incorporates the "Registrator Viewer v6.0.0.8."
(No. that's not a typo. It comes from our friends? in Russia.)
A darn fine piece of software for free.
(I found out that the author, Vadim, died tragically in a vehicle accident, back in 2015. May he RIP.)
I am now able to view all the travel videos in at least 2 of the included maps.
Google Maps are still a no-go.
The "Leaflet" map works fine with a heap of features.
I eventually found the volume control in all the clutter after D/L'ing the PDF manual.
The Compass was a tad erratic though, (ie; when car is completely stopped, the GPS goes nutso, going in circles, trying to find where it is).
I think the program is only meant for the Northern Hemisphere, coz the compass is all over the place & never
actually pointing in the right direction.
Always 180 Degrees out.
So, all is looking good again.
Hope this helps anyone who strikes the same Google Maps problem.
