Is Mozilla's news server defunct?

Post by Anonymosity »

In the last two days, I have not gotten any news feeds from news.mozilla.org. Has Mozilla pulled the plug on their news server?

Maybe it is working differently now? I had to click items to show that any messages were in there.

It doesn't appear to be working for me today.

Getting "Connection to server news.mozilla.org timed out" messages.

Sent a test post to mozilla.test and it hasn't shown up on the GG archive.

Isn't the real Mozilla news on Baker, Beard and Co's social media sites?

:P
What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

Do you even know what the Mozilla newsgroups are?

There are test, general discussion, support, developer and other groups. Some more active than others.

There are mailing list, news server and Google Groups access all tied together.

See: Mozilla Forums

Nope, all free and a great source of information.

You add a Newsgroups account to your Thunderbird or SeaMonkey, or maybe you use another news reader application for newsgroups.

The select "Manage Subscriptions" and a whole list appears magically before your eyes. Subscribe and enjoy reading and participating. I'm subscribed to 19 of them. Only active in test, general and the Firefox, Thunderbird and SeaMonkey support groups.

Fascinating.

It makes it worth coming to these forums if only to learn amazing facts like this.
