Chrome 83 will block downloading .exe files, .apk files, etc.
Chrome 84 will block downloading .zip files, .iso files, etc. Chrome 85 will block downloading .pdf files, .docx files, etc. Chrome 86 will block downloading .png files, .mp3 files, etc. [By Chrome 86, the browser will be blocking all mixed-content downloads.] Will Firefox do anything similar? And when they say "Chrome will block"... I mean, what...!? So you can't download a pdf file? You can't download a program installation file, you can't download a .zip archive? What's the point of having a PC computer if you can't download any of those file extensions? Open the pod bay doors, Cortana.
I presume you got this information from this article

![]() Would you mind clarifying this concept...
Are these just default options, which can be disabled by an individual user on their personal PC? It's more than a little mind boggling, so does this mean that people can no longer share .pdf files? Or .zip files? And how about downloading programs, they're all .exe files... I mean you can't share a Word file? I mean you share all these things with someone else through... a browser... how else would you do it? Open the pod bay doors, Cortana.
best place for answers is Google Chromes forum , since this is a Mozila forum i dont think your likely to get any answers here concerning Chrome How about actually reading the linked article very slowly and then try to comprehend what it says before going ballistic.
Also seeing as you wont be using either Chrome or a modern version of Firefox then why do you have your garters in a knot? What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

Ever hear of email? As for your interpretation of that article on Ghack... I suggest taking a deep breath and counting to 10 next time you post. I doubt you understood even half of that article. Talk about a knee jerk reaction. ![]()

I am on Firefox 52.9 ESR - the last fully customizable version of any browser and haven't been following development, convinced that all further development boils down to further and further limitation of customizations. I understand the security is the reason why, but complete lock-down of all customization is how I (incorrectly) perceived where the developers were heading with release of Quantum onward... Sorry again. Open the pod bay doors, Cortana.
