Highest Resolution Video - converting to or sharing

Post by motivated »

Here’s the conundrum.

I’m unsure where this video question might be considered appropriate if not apropos on this forum. If there’s a better forum, I’d very much appreciate your sharing that forum with me please?

When you create an instructional video and upload it to YouTube, it’s my understanding YT either compresses it or forces you to compress it. So, you may have saved that video in high resolution (e.g. 1080p), but it’s no longer at high resolution once you watch that video on YT.

I further understand you can’t change the resolution of that YT video with any YT downloader but there’s software called Handshake that “may” enable you to increase the downloaded YT video resolution to high resolution.

I’ve no experience using Handshake or other open source video transcoder utility.

Has anyone enjoyed success increasing the video resolution of a downloaded YT video using Handshake or other software?

I guess the only other alternative would be to contact the video creator and ask them to upload the video to a site like YouSendIt, provided it fits with the maximum limits of that video sharing site. If the file issto large for YouSendIt, I’m not sure how one shares larger video files?

Thanks so much.

Hi motivated/ETL,
".......I’m not sure how one shares larger video files?...."
If you haven't heard of this free process that Mozilla are offering,
take a look & try it.

Firefox Send...
Operating instructions are here...> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/se ... refox-send

There are heaps of free services where you can simply upload your file/s & then
email your recipient/s the D/L link.
Try mediafire...

That's where I uploaded that "3 Fold.....etc.." video for you.

Here's a free video converter (Possibly the best that I've used), that has heaps of features
that enables you to change to original video/audio etc., to whatever size &/or file type you want.
(Be careful & experiment a bit before send them off...eh what?) ps. You'll be there for hours 'n' hours. :)

Hi Limpet...

I haven't heard of Firefox Send.

Thanks for sharing the link and the operating instructions.

I also didn't know re: mediafire and also sharing AVC.

Really appreciate all your help.

You're welcome...

ps. Seeing as you just said that...."you didn't know re; mediafire...." (Yeah well...!?)

That would mean that you NEVER READ my PM about D/L'ing your "Tri Fold" video
that I purposely uploaded for you to my mediafire site & posted the link for it.
(So...as you had a major problem trying to D/L the YT video...I don't suppose you have it now because of the above? )

pps.
Here's the mediafire D/L link for your "Tri Fold...." problem....again.

Sorry, I've had major problems logging in to Mozzilazine, then laptop problems. Got a refurbished laptop and I seem to be able to log in again.

Thanks for your patience.
