New PC strange logs in Event Viewer

Post by TheVisitor »

Since getting a new PC :
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Name Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630
Also have solid-state Disk, 256gb, and 12gig RAM.
Graphics drivers are up to latest Intel release.
Turned off all the HP Junkware, but not removed yet.

When starting Nightly with 22 tabs I get tons of Event ID 10016 logs from DCOM:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
and APPID
{15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}
to the user DESKTOP-3PBIHPU\xxxxx SID (S-1-5-21-2307917261-1441788652-4018236202-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I have tested in 'Nighly' safe-mode and the error does not occur. I then went on hunt for maybe an addon, nope, new profile, nope still get the error.
Going through the list of things that safe-mode turns 'off' I have found that turning 'off' hardware acceleration stops the above error.

Anyone have have any ideas ?

@ TheVisitor - It's "normal" for Windows, see Microsoft explanation here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4022522/dcom-event-id-10016-is-logged-in-windows
Virtualfox persona
Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.

Thanks I know about their 'normal' , and I've been too chicken to do the permission fixes that are around. The thing is Firefox never kicked those errors before I got this new PC and moved everything over from the old hard drive, now I get an error for every tab I open, so when I start Firerfox with 22 tabs I get 22 errors in the Event logs. The thing that does not make sense they do not occur with hardware acceleration 'off'. :-k
