screenshot with my question

Post by Odin2 »

Sorry for a dumb question--but how do I include a screenshot with my forum question? I have saved the image as a Win10 file.

This forum like many does not allow attachments due to database load and especially due to spam.

Short version is you need to host the image somewhere. if it is a large image then either just link to it or use the thumbnail link if the image host has that.

Thanks, James, but I'm afraid I need more help. The instructions you referenced suggest using an image editing program like The Gimp, but say, "If you use Windows 7 or later you can use the Snipping Tool instead." In fact I had already saved the image with the Snipping Tool. I've also saved it to The Gimp, although doing so may have been superfluous. Can you tell me how to include the image with my Mozillazine post?

Since you have the image all you need to do is use a image host site like the ones suggested in the article in Uploading for general use section. There are a number of sites around like https://imgbb.com/ , https://imgur.com/upload , https://imgshare.io/ , https://imgbox.com/ , http://imageshack.us/as example options.

If the image is large then just link to it or use the thumbnail link if the host provides that as a link option as a large image with [img] tags in post can break the forum layout when viewing thread.
