Firefox icons on the Windows 10 taskbar keep rearranging

I'm running Firefox 108.0.2 on Windows 10. I have my Windows Taskbar settings to "Never" combine the taskbar buttons. That means Windows will never do the icon grouping on the taskbar for multiple windows of the same program. Since I might have 30 Firefox windows open, that means my taskbar will show 30 Firefox icons.

Whenever I open a new Firefox window, a new icon will appear on the taskbar at the very end of all the Firefox icons. I know that my most recently opened Firefox window will appear at the end of the Firefox icons. But there are a couple situations in which all of the Firefox icons get rearranged in a random order:

* If Windows Explorer crashes, it will take the taskbar down. Then when it restarts, all of the icons on the taskbar are in a totally different order.
* If I take my laptop from home to my office, or from my office to home, all of the icons on the taskbar will be rearranged into a different order.

In those situations, the icon for my most recently opened Firefox window will no longer be at the end, it might be somewhere near the beginning or middle and I have to click on all 30 Firefox icons to find it.

Is there any way to prevent the Firefox window icons from being rearranged into a different order in these situations?

From what I'm reading, OP is looking to have FF reopen with his windows ordered - along the Windows Taskbar - in the order in which they were opened before quitting FF - or before "situations" occur (which he's mentioned).

In the latter case, it might be considered an OS issue, but... (not IMO, as FF should know it's ordering, even when Explorer [not Windows Explorer] crashes).
In the former case, expecting windows to be opened in the same order - along the Windows taskbar, as when FF (or SeaMonkey) was closed, it most certainly is a FF (SeaMonkey) issue.

And, for a long, long time now, it simply won't happen as the OP (or I) want.
Window ordering (along the Windows taskbar) may be remembered, for a period of time, but at some point, it will assuredly fail, & windows will be out of (wanted) order.

Thanks therube. I had wondered what happened to your post as I thought it was helpful. Didn't you mention in that post that an extension might help to remember the window ordering? I guess since you didn't mention it now, then maybe not, or at least maybe there isn't one out there that can do it.
