extracting pictures from youtube vids?

Post by ellster456 »

I've recently saved some youtube vids to my computer using the UnPlug add-on. How do I extract the pictures from the videos? Are there any extensions or other programs I can download ( for free ) to do this?

GOM Player and VLC Media Player both allow you to take snapshots of video and save them as pictures. GOM can save them as either .jpg or .bmp and VLC saves them as .png files, if I remember correctly.

Thanks Loungefly. I use a CustomButton for YouTube, and "SUPER" to re-encode the flash files . . . but @ Frank Lion's suggestion I got GOM Player the other day, and wasn't aware of GOM's screenshot capability. Excellent tip - thank you.

No problem :). I'll second that re SUPER. It's the first app I've come across where I haven't had any audio/video sync issues when encoding to and from flash.
