If you have the menu bar click on /View/Toolbars and un-check Bookmarks Toolbar.
You should have similar control in /View/Sidebar

No I want to keep Sidebar Bookmarks, just want to remove the "Bookmarks Toolbar" from the top of the menu and "Other Bookmarks" from the bottom of the menu.

Maybe you could have mentioned menu in your post.
Anyhow - search in add-ons for an extension which may allow menu editing as there doesn't appear to be an internal method.

I found this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search it removes Bookmarks Toolbar from the top and put it at the bottom, after using it and changing some setting it's a very nice add-on.

Thanks

Ok the addon is causing problems.

I want to keep Sidebar Bookmarks, just want to remove the "Bookmarks Toolbar" from the top of the menu and "Other Bookmarks" from the bottom of the menu

So is there a way to do this with userChrome.css?

Thank you

I don't think so. The entire collection (Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, OtherBookmarks) is a proprietary XUL "tree" under this element that you can see in the Browser Toolbox (inspector for browser chrome areas):

<treechildren view="bookmarks-view" class="sidebar-placesTreechildren" flex="1" tooltip="bhTooltip"/>

Styling of XUL trees is very limited and difficult to understand at best.

Yeah, all menu/tree entries are pretty easy to make vanish. Just find someone to give you the IDs for what you want to hide and you're away.

Here's an example of one I did for someone - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14804108

Thanks Frank, do you know where or how I can get the IDs? I am new to .css.

Thanks
