Tracking protection exception doesn't seem to work.

Post by steph90 »

When I want to download a file on https://1fichier.com, the site tells me I have to disable adblockers and tracking protection to download the file.

But even with ublock disabled and https://1fichier.com added in the tracking protection exceptions, I get the message and I'm unable to download. The only way I found is to completely turn the tracking protection off.

So each time I want to download something, I have to go to the settings, disable the protection, launch the download and re-enable the protection.

Is it the expected behaviour that the exceptions list does not unbreak this site?

Thanks.

Perhaps there may be other domains that they are requiring, other then just 1fichier.com?
(Like maybe, revcontent.com ?)

Yes it may be that. I had the same idea while checking the source and the console.

When the tracking protection is enabled, the console indeed shows messages about some revcontent.com scripts being blocked by the protection.

The problem is that I can't find a way to manually add a domain to the tracking protection exceptions list. In the settings, I can only remove existing sites, not add some ones.

That's why I posted here, to know whether someone knew how to manually add a domain. I googled but found nothing useful.

Something to consider. I don't know where you live, and I should not, but if you ask a Weather Site to give you a weather forecast for "your" local area won't you think that they might need to know where that is? :-)

Not at all. :-) It's one of those "DeRp" things. Happens to most of us.
