Session Restore

All,

I can't tell you when "session restore" was invoked in the entire time I've been using Firefox, maybe never.

As of this morning, I get the following pop-up when I open FF:

"Sorry. We’re having trouble getting your pages back.
We are having trouble restoring your last browsing session. Select Restore Session to try again.
Still not able to restore your session? Sometimes a tab is causing the issue. View previous tabs, remove the checkmark from the tabs you don’t need to recover, and then restore."

I'm not even sure where to start the diagnostic?

I don't have "restore previous session" checked in my settings.

Where do I begin to get a handle on this?

I may have solved it - I changed my settings to actually restore the last session, which is set to my home page.
