[Solved] Refreshed pages are entered in page history

Post by wjmn »

Using FF 95.0.1 on a Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa machine, FF behaves now differently on pages with auto refresh. These pages contain the following header lines:

Code: Select all

<META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="60">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="EXPIRES" CONTENT="Sat, 01 Jan 2001 00:00:00 GMT">
Before FF 95.0.1 the pages which are automatically refreshed were not entered in the page history. Thus using the left arrow (Alt+LeftArrow) brought you back to the previously visited page. However, since the upgrade to version 95.0.1, the left arrow will reload the same page if the page is shown for more than one minute. Is it possible to inhibit FF from entering auto refreshed pages in the page history?

I'll confirm the behavior difference between 95.0.2 & 78.

After installing FF version 96.0.1 the automatically refreshing pages are no longer entered in the page history.

A page with auto refresh is re-positioned to the top of the page upon auto refresh. This is slightly annoying: when reading a page, it might suddenly jumps to the start of the page.
