Visited Link colors
hi there
I amusing latest version of FF and win 10pro
Until shortly, when I click on a link to go to, it changes colour to , in my case, red.
Now, it doesnt' change color at all.
I went to settings/general/colours/manage colours, and selected visited links to red.
But it doesn't work.
May I kindly ask what to do please?
kindest thanks
cheers
peter

Re: Visited Link colors
Does the issue occur on all sites or on a particular site?

hi Morat

It seems others are having the same problem, so as the repairs as shown and explained on the links you kindly sent me, are beyond my pay grade, I will wait and hope the next version of FF fuixes the bug

Re: Visited Link colors
Test in a new, clean Profile.
Are the colors as expected there?

hi therube
thank you for your suggestion
sadly I am no teenager anymore, and for me the easiest option today is wait for the next version of FF and hope this is fixed.
If not, maybe I will venture into working with the profile manager
Fortunately it's no big deal.
Thank you for you response
cheers

Re: Visited Link colors
Is at least the history working if you check this in the sidebar (Ctrl+H) or in the History Manager (Library) ?

Re: Visited Link colors
thank you Dick, and TheRube and Morat for your assistance
The FF gods have smiled down on me, and the change in settings to remember history has worked, and now visited links are a different colour.
But, still not the colour I have chosen for visited links, in my case red, but FF shows them a purple colour, oh well <smiles>
thank you again

Re: Visited Link colors
Yes, links only change color when history is being remembered.
If your red color isn't taking effect, notice the "override" option at the bottom of the box where you selected red, and set it to "Always".

g'day semigeek
thank you for the advice
It works !!
However, I notice there are numerous changes to my FF display.
I think I like the changes, easier to read for these senior eyes.
thnx

Re: Visited Link colors
Note that these color settings unfortunately include Text/Background as well as link colors, and they even apply to Firefox displays that appear as content in a tab, like Settings itself. All of which is so awkward that I doubt many people use them. But at least you got it to work!petergo wrote:However, I notice there are numerous changes to my FF display.
If you're willing to use an add-on, this one will do just what you want (recommended by jscher on Mozilla support). Just remember to turn off your override.
